Exclamation Aircrack under Windows Problem

Hello all !

I got a new Laptop ( Asus with broadcom chipset ( argh) ). For testing my wep security at home i've tell a friend to come with his PPC ( ibook G3 ) with a airport card ( 802.11b ) ... Everything goes right during the capture sequence of IVs under kismac , if i run aircrack on the PPC , he read the pcap file exported by kismac without problem ... But ... I was wondering to use my laptop ( PC ) to crack the key , because PPC is a bit slow ... and that's my problem :

When i try to open the pcap file exported by kismac , under aircrack ( for windows )( means launch aircrack, type "1" , drag'n drop the file , type "enter") , he says that : " Warning magic head .... blabla , doesn"t work " ... okay i use ethereal to transform the kismac pcap file , into a windows compatible pcap file ( export it in Redhat pcap file under ethereal ) ... Okay here it goes right, aircrack doesn't report any error during opening the file ... But ... He always shows " Start cracking ( with 0 WEP IVs " ) ... so i can't get aircrack for windows to read the ethereal pcap file even the "Magic header is right " because aircrack doesn't report any error he symply don't find IVs. anyone has an idea because aircrack under MacOSX find them ?

May be i do something wrong ?
If u need more precisions , tell me about !

( i'm french sorry for my bad english )

Hi AngelUS3D,

This is a known bug in aircrack 2.1, which prevents it from using pcap file generated on big-endian machines (PPC) on a little-endian machine (x86). There's also another bug in the pcap reading code that makes aircrack crash on 64-bit machinees (like, AMD64). I hope to have both bugs fixed in 2.2.

Hi, I have a general aircrack problem that I didn't think was worth it's own thread because it's probably something simple. But, I seem to have problems telling it which mac address to filter. If I don't set any mac address filter, it says "choosing first wep-encrypted BSSID..". This cracks the wep in a couple seconds. But, if I try and set any mac filter to crack a different SSID, it gets 0 IV's when I read from the pcap files. Is there something specific about setting a mac filter that I'm not doing?

I just hit 3 <enter>
and then the mac address in the form of ##:##:##:##:##:##

Thanks.

ahh thanks for the quick reply. I searched and really didn't see anything mentioned about it so I thought I'd ask. Thanks again.
