Sitting on a street corner, enjoying my surfing experiance from a public WAP, when my connection keeps drifting in and out... (SNR ~12db, 0 lost packets, but a red bar and no network conneciton in the toshiba branded orinoco client manager).
What gives? Are there any third-party client managers that would allow me to adjust the connection sensitivity? Or, failing that, under what registry key or ini file can the conneciton sensitivity be tweaked? Thanks, Jace |

If your access point has any options as far as Interference Robustness, you might try setting those. I checked that box on all the APs at work and now everyone's signal is a bit stronger where some people were previously fading in and out.

I guess he can't do anything to the AP he doesn't own (read the post at the top of the page). He is looking for a CLIENT solution.
I agree with Mr.White.

This could well be the greatest post in the history of the NetStumbler Forums. All Hail Mr. White.
