annoying auto-connect
I just got a wireless card for my laptop, and not having one for my other computer yet, can only wardrive (or more accurately war-sit-at-home, for now). There is one AP nearby, and Windows XP Home automatically connects to it when I enable the network interface. Is there any way to prevent this without disabling TCP/IP for the wireless card?

If you only want to wardrive, disable TCP/IP (duh), it's pretty simple to turn back on when you want it.
When you do use wireless networking, enable WEP on you WLAN and tell windows to connect only to an encrypted network. Simple.
