I was looking on DeLorme's website and came across an update for SA2003. DeLorme says it's an update for "the GPS component for DeLorme software that was released before 2003 (Street Atlas 2003, Topo USA 4.0) and provides in option to install COM Port Emulation Drivers for use with the USB Earthmate GPS receiver."
Does this mean that by downloading this update, you wouldn't need any additional software to have NetStumber and Street Atlas use the GPS at the same time? |

fordem is exactly right. The driver you see is simply a USB > COM driver. It allows you to use the USB GPS with programs such as NS, which only recognises COM ports. It's included on the SA2004 CD's.

Could be. The proof is in whether the GPS shows up in Device Manager under "Ports (COM & LPT)" or under "Human Interface Devices". If it's a HID, you need to change the driver to the Serial Emulation one. If it's a COM, you're good to go for NS.
