Linksys SES (Secure Easy Setup)
I have been reading about Linksys SES (Secure Easy Setup) which generates a WPA-PSK passphrase automatically with a push of a single button on the router,My Question is how many characters would this passphrase be.

Besides, teasing a mod is bad for you on here, unless you are a triple E cupped blond swedish nurse who moonlights as a yoga/aerobics instructor. Then its ok to tease the mods.

Linksys SES
I am not trying to tease Dutch in anyway I am just trying to find the answer to my question guys.I have searched Linksys.com and have found no answers.I am in search of a router with high security, and want a router that generates a passphrase thats 64 characters long. Which from what i understand is the maximum amount of characters a passphrase can be.

Last time I used the secure easy setup it created a captive portal that ran a setup wizard when I put my laptop on dhcp and used Internet Explorer. If that doesn't work then look into installing the software that came with the router.

It seems to be about 15 characters. As far as I know, no router does random generation 64 characters long. Also, the Linksys SES transmits the passphrase in the clear for several minutes to allow other SES units to sync up and learn the passphrase. If a third party intercepts it at that time, all you've gained is false security.
My suggestion is to merely come up with your own passphrase and keep it secret. If you want it to be 64 characters, type out 64 characters. The security of WPA and WPA2 doesn't depend on whether the router generates the passphrase, but whether the passphrase is subject to a dictionary attack. The longer and more random the passphrase, the less likely it will be successfully attacked.

Now she brags about how secure her wifi is and how she set it up.. I let her take credit since while I was setting it up, I was explaining each step.
