Net Stumbler + WEP Cracking Program

Hey, I got a 802.11g card and it isnt supported by any programs that I know of, is there a driver download site to work with a program like airsnort or something, or do I have to attempt to make it myself, attempt being the key word .

I don't think there is any drivers for G cards (in windows at least). *Mabey* atheros ones, but most stuff is for prism2 and hermes chipsets. This has been covered ad nauseam.

Well any based on those chipsets. For windows though I'd probably say an ORiNOCO (hermes).

You got a link for such a card? I can't buy online, and all we got is CircuitCity, BestBuy, and CompUSA, and a FRY's but that's a little out of the way...

You won't find an ORiNOCO in a local electronics store, and thats the only card I have seen work "reliabley" in Windows for WEP cracking.

AiroPeek does support Atheros chipsets, so it should... I did not design the card or the drivers, so "I" do not guarantee it!

Don't bother unless you've learned to use the shift key in the mean time... It's there for a reason : Readability is so much higher, when you use proper capitalization...

If you are going to be an 11b card that works with airodump I would recommend that you get a prism2 card because they are very common and widely supported.

Note that, for best compatibility, you shouldn't get a USB card.

Also, don't get the (very common and cheap around here) DWL-122 because it uses a special prism3 card that is not 100% compatible with other prism 11b cards.

To figure out which cards are Prism, try one of these links...

http://www.seattlewireless.net/index...rs_5f802_5f11b
http://wiki.personaltelco.net/index.cgi/Prism2Card

Be careful. Vendors will change the chipset and not change the model number of a product.

Actually I find that to be poor adivce.
Uning a Prism 2 for wep cracking in Windows is flakey at best. Like I and the others said, use the Hermes based ORiNOCO. However, I find the Prism 2 cards are fantastic for wep cracking in Linux/BSD.

Okay Dutch, fair enough in my defence English isn’t my best trait and neither is spelling, but I will try in the future. Out of interest why was my post deleted? Was it because of the link to eBay? (if so sorry)

No, it was because of your laziness. You are located in England, so you are exposed to English grammar, spelling and proper writing everyday.
By not making an effort to write correctly, you only prove you are lazy, and you pull down the readability of the posts to a level which we don't want here.

And if you look at my location, you can see English isn't my first language either. Dictionary.com, and other spellchecking means are available, also free. Use it.
