Netstumbler for windows XP64 bit edition
After searching through the posts here and on google. (and reading through the welcome desk posts)
I am wondering if there is the posibility of future support for netstumbler in XP 64. I looked for the contact information for Marius but could not find that either. if it is here and I missed it could someone please post a link the where it is on the site. If this is the wrong place for this post I appologize. it didn't seem to fit into suggestions (since I am asking for contact information) and I understand that Marius is writing this on his own but would still like to pose the quetion to him Thanks |

Did you even read the forum descriptions? You couldn't find the contact info? Have you considered trying his site? Type "netstumbler" into google and have a nut. If all else fails you can contact him here. Last edited by wrzwaldo : 05-24-2005 at 01:47 PM. |

thanks for the fast reply
I did read the forum descriptions and as I said it was not a suggestion but a question about future support. I went to netstumbler.com but did not see contact information on there I must have missed it if it is there. unless he has a different site that I am unaware of. I have used netstumbler (and still do)on my XP32 system but am looking into moving to XP64 on my laptop and would like to continue to use it there I have all of the driver support I need. just checking up on the apps before I make a switch. |

Thank you.
I found his e-mail address on the link you posted I will e-mail him and see what his reply is. thanks so far NS is not working on my desktop in XP64 2x Opteron 246s Tyan K8WE (S2895) 2GB OCZ ram. D-link DWL-520. from what I have read this is due to the application being written to work with 32 bit drivers. Last edited by athildja : 05-24-2005 at 02:02 PM. |

Yes I am from PlanetAMD64
but I am interested in seeing about support for this for XP64. I use this on my work laptop Athlon 64 (Emachine) and on my Powerbook (well I use Istumbler there) when I set up wireless networks. I am finding that using the powerbook is getting more complicated with the new security features in 2003 server so was looking to use the emachine instead. but have already ordered the OEM update to XP64(through the technology adavncement program) for it and now have found that my XP32 key is no longer going to be valid. I can still use the mac but then have to run virtual PC to cehck the network connectivity to the server for shares. Last edited by athildja : 05-24-2005 at 02:52 PM. |

"But Doctor, it hurts when I do that!"
"Well, don't do that!" (Groucho, I think..)

LOL, "I cannot believe I let them off so light". What a putz! No dimwit you feel stupid because you are stupid. moshpit, if you see this (and I'm sure you will) and you think you have the nads for it then by all means come back and eat our lunches more "thuroughly" (thoroughly). Please bookmark dictionary.com and get a clue before you do or you will get your ass handed to you. Please start by reading this... http://www.netstumbler.org/showthread.php?t=9896 Then read this (What is NetStumbler) and note where WarDriving is listed... While your at it you may as well look at the "Legal note" there as well. http://www.stumbler.net/readme/readme_0_4_0.html Last edited by wrzwaldo : 05-24-2005 at 03:49 PM. |

Take a look at http://www.wrzwaldo.org/FCCID to see why wrzwaldo asked for it. He is compilling an online tech reference site for WiFi cards, so people easier can see what mods can be made, which chipset it uses etc. You can also read the thread named " WANTED (Your FCC ID #'s)" in the Hardware section. As for getting Marius to support XP64, your best bet is like when you want a specific WiFi card supported. Supply him with an example of what you want supported : I.E. Get him a 64 bit system, with a licensed version of the 64 bit operating system, as well as the proper development tools (64 bit capable version of MS C++). Also keep in mind you might be out of luck getting the card supported properly. Under 32bit windows it is only supported via the NDIS 5.1 API in Netstumbler, with its inherent limitations. So unless Cisco (or MS itself) has released 64 bit clean drivers, and MS hasn't changed the NDIS interface to much, you probably will be out of luck untill Win XP64 has matured. Dutch
