Exclamation Passive scanning with Orinoco Classic Gold PCMCIA + USB Adapter

Hello,

I have got "Orinoco Classic Gold PCMCIA + USB Adapter" card - this is screenshot:

http://members.lycos.co.uk/gim3mys2/card.jpg

This card is fully supported by Netstumbler and Agere Drivers, Agere Utility shows noise in dBm, I can flash casual Proxim firmware - it has got all possibilities of PCMCIA version, but different drivers to USB-PCMCIA bridge support.

Unfortunately linux orinoco-usb drivers don't support monitor rtfmon mode, so Kismet don't work... So could you tell me which Windows software offering kismet possibilities support this card? Airopeek don't want to work with USB-PCMCIA bridge, the same Commview for WiFi... Is there any software suppoerting this card?

Thanks for answers!

Is there a particular outstanding reason that you're using it with a USB adapter rather then in a PC Card slot?

Yes... Simply In my laptop I don't have any PCMCIA slot, so I must use USB Adapter... So, I will try to rewrite orinoco-usb drivers for monitoring purpose...

Does not work with the following in 2K and XP!

Classic Gold
WPC11 V4
DWL-G630

It works great with the multi card adapter that comes with it.

Bummer! I wanted to use it with an Orinoco Gold that I just ordered. Any idea why it will not work with wireless adapters?
Thanks for letting us know that.

Got The 8420-WD

Well I got my Orinoco Gold 8420-WD today and it works well. I want to get an external antenna for it. Does anyone know the name of the type of external jack on these units as I would like to connect the antenna without having to get a pigtail as well. Thanks.

For the benefit of others, this Orinoco Gold card has an MC type of connector.
