Problems with Street Stumbler 2004 with S&T
Hey guys,
I just got Microsft Streets and Trips (11.00.18.1900). I used Street Stubmler 2004 to view the Export SUmmary of Net Stumbler, and it reads it fine. Shows how many open access points, etc. I then goto File -> Convert All. It makes a file like the Summary File with the word Convert All or so... So, I open Street and Trips and goto Data -> Import Wizard... I put *.* in the file name, seelect the Covert All file made by Street Stumbler and S&T says that this file invalid??!?!? Whats up with that?!!? I got Street and Trips 2004 right? Based on the version.... |

Dont change the Import Wizard to '*.*'. The file is named .txt for a reason, and that reason is so that when you hit S&T drop down box, and select Text Files (*.txt, *.csv, *.tab, *.asc) it will pick it up right away, and handle it flawlessly.
No one else has had problems with this release, and it works fine here, so if that doesnt 'fix' the 'problem' .... Im lost, and Im the programmer ![]() -= Zero =- |

haha, there ya go! I had to rename that file to .txt so I can be seen in the .txt instead of making it *.*. Problem solved! Thank you
. Just a side note, I HATE how it shows the access points. I want it to show all of the access points SSID's. Not too large of a font... And I want it to show locked access points as RED and open as Green... Can you do something like that ooo great PRogrammer ![]() |

Sure can and Actually, its already done and built into the version you have sitting right there in front of you.
Now, all you have to do is Export all the locked ones and all the unlocked ones (Keyboard Shortcuts work great) then I would refer you to the manual that came with Streets and Trips to learn how to change the icons, colors, and text labes of all that data that the super-duper-streetstumbler just converted for you. Yes, it does work like you want it to, and works flawlessly. If you cant figure out how to do it, refer to Microsoft's website on how to use Streets & Trips, or dig out your manual. -= Zero =- |

Yea, I checked it out... but it seems that you cannot do it for like all of the recently imported ones. It will do the change for ALL of them.... If you know how, can you please post some quick steps in the program, it would save me tons of time and only take you like two min? If you can, you made my day!

Turn on the tape recorder cause Im doing this one time :
Export all unlocked AP's Export all locked AP's Import unlocked AP's in S&T Import locked AP's in S&T Leftmost side of S&T Under the 'Area' Map -> PushPins / Properties / Symbol -> Whatever You Want On the real map, click on the pushpin you want to see the Info for and hit 'Show Info'. Now, If ONLY Kindergarden was THAT Easy .... |
