Post Senao NL-2511 CD Plus EXT2

I've just installed my Senao NL-2511 CD Plus EXT2 pcmcia card with Senao drivers, and downloaded Aircrack 2.1, to test my network.

I think I need to run airodump before aircrack (true ?).
So ... I've a little problem, airodump.exe say that I don't have the correct drivers ...
I try to install the "Agere driver" and/or "WildPackets drivers", but WinXP wouldn't to install it.

So, how can I force the installation of these drivers ?
Any one use this card with aircrack and give me some tips ?

Goto Network connections, select properties for your card (right click).
Click the "Configure" button.
Select the "Driver" tab.
Click the "Update Driver" button
On the Hardware update wizzard dialog:
Check "no, not at this time" then hit "Next"
Check "Install from list or specified location" then hit "Next"
Check "Dont Search - I will choose the driver"
Hit "Have Disk"
Hit "Browse"
Goto location where you downloaded and unzipped the drivers and hit Open.

Follow through and you should be good to go.

You do realise that Orinoco is a brand of wireless card; one that you dont own. Installing that driver isn't going to do much... Go have a look at the WildPackets site. You might as well read it there rather than here.

Are you talking about the driver you select to install?
Select WLAN PC card (or something like that, dont remember offhand).

Or the device airodump asks for?
I believe airodump would use Orinoco/Realtek, try one or the other to see what works.

The Others : Yes I know, but Aircrack documentation tell me I must have these drivers - and I shouldn't use constructor driver ...

grcore : Yep, it's "802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card", I've just re-installed these driver, and now WinXP says that I have a "802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card"... thanks, I'll try to use aircrack when I'm home...

I can't test it now, I don't have any wifi connection here... but when I try airodump here (with Orinoco/Realtek OR Aironet/Atheros option) it say's that I don't have the correct driver, compatible with PEEK protocol ... yeah, maybe it's because I don't have wifi here ...
I'll try it to home ... see you later !

Thanks for all !

Senao NL-2511CD PLUS EXT2 + aircrack

Hey,

I don't mean to be the 100th person to ask this, but could anyone tell me if the Senao NL-2511CD PLUS EXT2 works well and without problems with aircrack under windows, if one uses Agere drivers, like recommended in the documentation?
I was thinkin of gettin a Senao card, but then the following part of the aircrack-doc got me thinking, because the card has a prism2.5 chipset:

What is the problem with Aironet and Prism2 cards ?

The 802.11 header appears to be correct, but the encrypted data itself gets corrupted, probably because of the drivers. These cards can be used for wardriving purposes, but are useless for WEP cracking under Windows.

This thread is already about using the same card/program you are asking about. Moving it to another forum will not change/add to/take away from the ability of those that normally use forums to see your question. Here's a hint for you, use the 'New Posts' link at the top of each page. You won't miss a lick. Well, you won't miss any new posts anyway.
