Seems my ISP Crapped out when I was uploading the zip file. Everything is working fine now, so if you got a 'Invalid Archive' error, thats fixed now and she's ready to go !

Does this version of Street Stumbler support the new NetStumbler V0.4.0? Everytime I try to open either the summary or full export file I get either a "Read Past End of File" or "File Already Open" runtime error.

Yea, i can't get it to read from netstumbler v 0.4.0 because of the added lines of information, had to format it myself through excel . . .

What lines did you have to remove/format to get it to work?

I believe its like the last 2 or three . . . i can check when i get home . . .

Another solution is to not use StreetStumbler . . . this is my workaround:

Ok, i just ran through it myself and here is what you can do: Export the summary file to a .txt file from NS. Open that Txt File and delete the first 2-3 lines that have stupid information. Open Streets and trips and go to File -> Import Data, then select all file types and the txt file you just created, from there select "tabbed" and work with Streets and trips little import guide to get your information into the correct columns, from there it should plot all the points. You can also import excel files so if you did make that excel file you can try importing that. Let me know how you make out . . .

Laterz

Have you tried using my workaround? Honestly all StreetStumbler does is convert "tabb's" into ";'s" . . . The program could easily be fixed to work with 0.4.0 it just needs to except an extra two columns of data. But if you look at the output from NS it can be very easily managed. I have taken it directly to Streets and Trips without a problem either by fixing the formatting in Streets and Trips, or taking it into Excel and then importing the excel file into Streets and Trips. I would consider fixing the program code but I don't wanna step on the author's toes. Let me know if you want a step-by-step document for how to perform the workaround and I'll have it to you in a bit. Laterz

I do the workaround, see the data, Lat, Long, and SSID - but it says MATCHED 0 of 57 records, and then does nothing.

I am pulling my hair out here lol tips?

I sent this to someone through email so i will just repost it:

What you can do to make the files useable in Streets and Trips is either: A. Open the exported summary .txt file in a text editor and clean it up by replacing spaces between the different fields with a semi-colon. Then when you import into Streets and Trips, select the semi-colon as the dividing punctuation. B. Import your exported .txt summary into Excel and clean it up nicely making each column a different field and then save the files as an Excel file. Streets and Trips can import that Excel file and plot the points using that. C. Import the exported .txt summary directly into Streets and Trips and use Streets and Trips import functions to get stuff in the right places (I wouldn’t suggest this method). D. Search around the forum, many people use Streets and Trips and I know someone said they has a program that acted like Street Stumbler for NS 0.4.0.

Anyone else have any ideas?
