WildPackets Driver Unavailable,Different Prog for sniffing, then use AirCrack *Help*

Hello,

Before asking this question, I did a search on google and these forums and did not find anything (I may have missed something). I am running Windows XP w/ SP2 and a Atheros Netgear WG311 Wireless card. I tried to force windows to run a drivers similar to my card, however that was unsucessful.
My question is, is that is it possiable to use a different packet sniffer to gather packets and then use AirCrack to obtain the WEP from them. I currently using Ethereal to gather packets. But after 20 min no packets or IV's?!!?!? If there are any other sniffers out there, please let me know.
Also, is there a type of change we could make to the driver so that Airodump accepts my Wirless adapter?

OH yeah: I could not find a compatiable wildpackets driver

Bad news for you, the recent WG311 are based on a crappy TI chipset, not Atheros. You probably own one of those. (on a side note, WG311T is based on Atheros, but it's a tad more expensive).

arrgg, I'm having trouble even connecting to the UNSECURED NETWORKS!!

Devine (or anybody), at this point, if I was out to go buy another card for this type of use, which wireless adapter should I go for....please consider price (it plays a big roll.

...and wildpackets compatiable?

When you say "UNSECURED NETWORKS" I presume you mean networks you have permission to connect to?

Yes. That is correct. I'm on dial up and I explained this to them, their nice people so the naturally agreed.

Any ideas for a wireless card, i'm planning on taking the WG311 it back!
