Google for Ethereal.

I like NGSSniff http://www.nextgenss.com/ngssniff.htm from Next Generation Security Software (David Litchfield's company).

It is free.

I tend to use this in Windows rather than Ethereal. Ethereal would be the 'standard" though, but you might want to give NGSSniff a try as well and see what you think.

I need to sniff all the packets in the air

Airopeek has the ability to sniff all the packets in the air , not just the ones sent to/from your card...

but I checked out ngssniff , ethereal , analyzer and I couldn't do the same with any of them!

I need to monitor all the packets in the network...and I don't have $3000 to pay for airopeek!

I hate to disapoint you, but if you really want to capture all
wireless packets on the network, then you are going to need a
commericial program to do it (and work)..

Google For:

Wildpackets AiroPeek NX
NAI Sniffer Pro or Sniffer Wireless

These are the Top 2 Programs.. and yes they are going to cost over $2k....

I've always liked IRIS from eeye digital security when using windows for doing any kind of sniffing work.

I apologize, I didn't notice your original post was in reference to a wifi card. I thought you were just talking general sniffers.

Pretty much you are gonna be hosed on freeware sniffers for wifi cards in Windows that will do what you want.

Go Linux, any number of programs can do it.

You can change pretty easily check out Knoppix-std for a live CD. No installs or hassle, just fun. Sure, it's not as rewarding as doing it the traditional way, but you'll be able to grab packets.

That works perfectly! As long as you have an Orinoco type card. You can't change the configuration for kismet, read only filesystem...

Sounds like my favourite sniffer, ettercap. It's cool, and available to windows, but probably not suitable for the apllication discused here.
