XP Pro wireless issues
Hey guys,
I'm at a total loss here. My wireless just won't stay solid and it's driving me crazy. Here are the specs: IBM Thinkpad X31 Windows XP Pro Lucent Orinoco PCMCIA card (not proxim) I am not having the same issues with my onboard wireless but that won't work with netstumbler or Linux/Kismet. I even tried a second Orinoco card to make sure that wasn't the problem. I can't seem to find better drivers than the default Orinoco drivers that come with XP. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device several times. Anyone know where I can locate some? I'll lose packets on regular intervals, and will disconnect from my wireless network every 15-30 minutes briefly. Aside from finding better drivers, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm falling flat here and it's pissing me off. Also, if anyone can recommend a better wireless network manager than the one that comes with XP, I'd love some ideas. Thanks, Jen |

Before everyone else jumps in with comments about the search button (it is a very useful and helpful button), you might want to check out the latest from Agere; I think they support XP.
P.S. Use the search button. ![]() |
