Kismac, macbook & D-Link DWL-G122 H.W B1

Hi all

I have a Macbook

I have the D-Link DWL-G122 wireless card (hardware revision B1)

I have this version of Kismac 0.21a

However when I try to re-inject packets, it just stalls on 'testing...' stage. Any ideas what the problem could be? And can someone confirm that my setup is capable of cracking WEP with Kismac?

Thanks!

Shouldn't the company where you work as an IT Security Specialist purchase you the required hardware to do your job?

Shouldn't the company that employs you as a InfoSec guy provide you with the proper tools for the pentesting, and the proper education in using them ? Plus provide you with a brain that makes you able to submit questions about specific software to the appropriate forum supporting that software ?
Hint : This is not the Kismac support forum.

Why do all the mac tards show up here? If you want to use kismac for anything other than basic wardriving use an older powerbook that still has a pcmcia card slot. Usb is pretty useless for what you are trying to do. Kismac doesn't have a forum, but they do have a pretty good mailing list, even has a browsable history. Might want to go check over there.

Are you sure the D-Link DWL-G122 is supported? I have had success with packet injection only with non-G USB devices.

Had you looked at the documentation or even asked in the right place, you would have found that the DWL-G122 actually doesn't do any injection yet.

The DWL-122, however, does. But I would recommend a PowerBook with a PCMCIA slot, and a card such as the Senao 2511 instead.

USB isn't entirely useless for what you are trying to do, as USB Prism2 cards are supported. When we have USB Ralink cards fully supported with re-injection, it will be a lot better...
