USB GPS with KisMAC
Hey, Me and a friend are getting into wardriving now that we have wireless cards and we want to try GPS with it.
As far as we can tell, we need an emulation driver to be able to use a USB GPS device with KisMAC. Can anyone tell me where I could find a driver that will do this for us? Thanks a lot, Dan |
Keyspan has usb-serial adapters. Works for me and my garmin.

It looks like you are looking for a serial emulation driver for a USB GPS, not a KisMAC driver for a serial GPS, correct? KisMAC only supports serial GPS units because there is no standard protocol defined by the NMEA for USB GPS data transfers (afaik). Most GPS manufacturers have a serial emulation driver for just this purpose, but they are mostly proprietary (due to no set standard). You'll need to check the driver CD that came with the GPS unit, or go to the manufaturer's website and hope that they have an emulation driver for OS X.

Under No 3, there's a link for a driver that the developers of Route 66 thinks might work for USB GPS's. I have no idea if it works or not, I do know however that I bought a USB GPS from Ebay today based on the fact that the driver exists. I hope it does.
