aircrack does not crack WPA PSK

Hi,

I have captured a WPA handshake. The passphrase is "testtest". But I can't get the passphrase broken. Is it possible that the different file formats UTF-8 or latin1 is a problem?
aircrack just runs through and prints EOF.

Here is my ziped cap file:
http://hyperupload.com/download/fac4...t.cap.zip.html
command: aircrack -w wordlist wpa_psk_testtest.cap
version: aircrack-2.4.tgz
OS: open suse 10.0

Can someone pls. try if it possible on their environment?

Thanks,
Chris

Aircrack does crack WPA, just didn't work in your case. Could be a number of reasons. How is the quality of your dictionary file? You need a good dictionary file and probably a good amount of luck to crack WPA.

I put the passprase (yes, I know the passphrase!) there. But aircrack doesn't get the right key.

I'm not sure about aircrack, but I know with cowpatty, if your password/dictionary file is in windows txt format, each line has a ^H control character appended to it.

I'd try running the capture file through Cowpatty to double check. The other think to consider is that aircrack/cowpatty only work on WPA v1 and aircrack's support is fairly new and experimental.

cowpatty worked like a charm.
Seems aircrack has a problem. I tried to run aircrack on another machine. nope. didn't work with dos file nor with unix word file.

I know that support for WPA-PSK was newly added before devines vanishing act, so I'd use cowpatty over Aircrack

If you were Microsoft, you could sue chris- just like Microsoft sued Mikerowesoft (who had to change his domain name).

Yeah, but if I remember right, he got some $$ and other goodies ("incentives") to do it.

Would that be a Chris that's friendly and nice, and works at your local McD's?
