I have an atheros based wireless card and I was curious as to what the syntax for running aireplay under this chipset. Also I have suse linux if that helps. I am able to put my card in monitor mode and master mode however whenever I try to run aireplay i get a segmentation fault. So if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

What does the output look like? Have you run aireplay with elevated privileges (i.e. root)?

And for this stuff, you need to read the aireplay README. It's all in there, plain as day. Patch your drivers, compile your drivers, compile airplay, get to cracking.

I'm running an atheros card, so if you have more specific questions, I can probably help.

ok, couple questions:

1. is the madwifi drivers patched in the newest version of auditor? (march 2005)
2. If not, what exact patch do i need, i have been hunting the forums and web and found different patches.

i can patch the drivers and install the program just fine, i just need to know what driver i need.

laptop1 debian kanotix. kernel 2.6.
laptop2 debian knoppix (auditor (8-2004) kernel 2.4

laptop2 will be the one i mess with, seeing i need to update it anyways.

1) Best place to ask that question, would be at the forums over at http://www.remote-exploit.org
2) Since we are talking about aireplay in this thread, I would suggest the patch that comes with the Aircrack suite v.2.2.

Furthermore, please read all the posts in the Welcome Desk section, paying particular note to the post regarding the usage of proper English on the forums. That includes capitalization at the start of a line, after full stop, and when using the letter "I" to denote yourself. Standard rules as taught in every English school class. Otherwise your future posts WILL end up in the AOL and Non-Typers thread in the Newbie Bin. You have been duly warned.

You should get the latest version of the Auditor CD released on 12-03-05. If you want to patch any driver you must have the OS installed to the HD or setup a persistent directory. Also check here <http://data.forumhoster.com/forum_max1111/> for further Aireplay and Auditor discussions.
