Airsnort Hangs
I just finished installing Kismet and Airsnort on Fedora 2 Core with Kernel 2.6.8-1 today. Have them both working earlier, and then I saw chopchop, downloaded it and compiled it but was not able to get it running. Since then, I had Kismet stall after about 5400 packets. Airsnort runs down the screen about 100 packets (best guess) and then stalls. It does not convert to the simpler display with just the AP's on the screen.
I recompiled and installed both programs and Kismet seems to be doing fine (44000 packets in 14 minutes and still running) but Airsnort still hangs capturing the first 100 or so packets. It doesn't display the channel number of the packet or the SSID (BSSID is displayed). Is Airsnort supposed to do this when the program starts up? Does the display then change to the regular display without displaying each packet (but more the count). I'm using the Orinoco Gold, and successfully installed the kernel patch for the orinoco drivers. |

hmm.. i got a similar problem.
Im using a Dell inspiron 510m running Mandrake 10.1 with 2.6.8.1 Kernel with newest native IPW2100 drivers for centrino card. i can run and flick through the menus but when i try to change device on airsnort, from my lan eth0 to my centrino card eth2, it hangs. i have a work around atm, using Kismet i can cap packets and import to airsnort. but id like to be able to do it in one click without scriptin' any ideas? |
