Anyone looking at Wellenreiter?

http://www.remote-exploit.org/

No GPS ability it looks like but it seems to have some other VERY interesting abilties. Anyone using it or testing it? How does it compare with say Kismet?

Wellenreiter

Well, i'm the main developer of WEllenreiter, please take a look at 0.9 version. Its in some things more advance than kismet but does not support gps, but soon it will work. I actualy try to support nearly all cards..1.0 will support cisco, prism2 and maybe if i can organize one also lucent ones. But basicaly i dont fear to be compared with any other software on in this range. Personaly i think its better then
kismet acouse of the gui mostly, the featureset is nearly identical. And Wellenreiter can easely export the savefiles to cvs for example. And the dumpfile abilitiy gives you the chance to use ethereal to examine the whole session recorded in more detail.

Greetings

Max

untar

Well if you donwload it with netscape...netscape will ungzip the file automaticly but leaves the .gz at the end... use the command 'file Wellenreiter-v09.tar.gz' to find wat format you now have, i bet you will receive gnu tar archive...so rename it to Wellenreiter-v09.tar and use 'tar xvf Wellenreiter-v09.tar' and all should run :-)

greetings

Danny D,

I have nothing against your software. I do wish to apologize for my previous deletions of your software, but these occurred at the same time that I deleted NetStumbler from the downloads, and then I made the policy of not including other downloads in the main d/l section. I will be more than happy to add your software to our links section if it’s not already there.

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

Thanks,

-aFR

Cool Cisco

Hi,
It's more geared towards Cisco cards.

Kismet is still the best option for Prism2/Orinoco cards at the moment.

Thumbs up Wellenreiter 1.0

... works great with the Cisco 350 PCMCIA.

tip : when installing the Gtk-perl module, try
> perl Makefile.PL --without-guessing
if the install complains about gnome binarys.

Kudos to Wellenreiter guys from remote-exploit.org, this tool really rocks!
