Atheros AR5001X+ VS RALINK RT2500

Hi all,
I am brazillian and sorry about my very poor english.
I have 2 pcmcia cards here, one with atheros AR5001X+ chipset called Warpstar WL54AG and another with RAlink RT2500 chipset called Corega WLCD54GL. Well, i can do airodump and aireplay without any troubble with both cards. Packet injection is ok too. BUT, with RAlink RT2500, i can get 15000IV/min while with atheros AR5001X+ i can get only 3500IV/min. Anybody can help me understant this ? Is RT2500 chipset better and more fast to do packet injection than Atheros chipset ?

RT2500 im using serialmonkey driver

Why does it matter? If the RAlink does what you need it to do faster, then use it.

You better read ALL the posts in the Welcome Desk section right now, and pay particular note to the thread regarding the usage of proper written english language on this forum, or your future posts will end up in an appropriate thread down in the Newbie Bin.

As for your question, it depends on the driver and the manufacturers implementation of the logic on the card, and how fast it can switch the chipset between different modes. Appearently the Ralink driver can do that faster with your Ralink based card, than the madwifi driver can do it with your Atheros based card. Although it doesn't necessarily help you, since it also depends on how fast the AP can respond, and if the data reported by the card and driver is valid.
