can someone recommend a cheap USB/PCMCIA that works
Hi everyone,
can some kind soul recommend a cheap USB / PCMCIA wireless adapter that supports Monitor mode. I understand to sniff packets from my WEP AP I need to be able to set the card into monitor mode and use airocrack. Is this correct? Thanks |

Read the documentation of the programs you want to use, then purchase hardware according to the requirements of the programs.
Need to figure out what chipset various brand and models use, ask Mr. Google. Dutch

I prefer Atheros cards, they work in monitor mode in windows (airopeek, airsnort, winaircrack, commwifi,...) and linux (kismet, aircrack, airsnort,..). They also support other functions, like injecting packets. All pcmcia cards that have "Super G" chipset (108Mbps) are atheros cards...
