I think God doesn't want me to use kismet
For the past 2 years.... 2 YEARS!?!?!? I've been trying to get my stupid Compaq Armada M700 to work with linux. I've installed every distro i can think of. The same problem exists. My stupid system freezes either a) when a card is inserted (pcmcia) or b) when the card is put into monitor mode. The problem exists in the IRQ routeing. (Or so i've been told) Apparently the laptop is crap. (I should've known this by the brand on the lid....)
So far the only thing that has come close to working is the Slackware Bareacpi.i kernel and FreeBSD w/ ACPI disabled. Go figure. Two completely opposite solutions. One without ACPI and one with ACPI. I guess i'll stop ranting now and get back to f|-|x0ring with linux. -Mr.K |
