ipw2200 airodump IV's on 00:00:00:00:00:00 error

I use a prism2 card (with hostap) to succesfully start ARP request generation meanwhile in airodump with my ipw2200 running the IV's come flying in. However they all come in from a mac address of 00:00:00:00:00:00 instead of the mac and ssid of the router being atacked.

I've tried several different versions of the ipw2200 driver and firmware and have it working correctly, is this card just unable to correctly dump the packets or am i missing something.

What do the logs on the router being attacked show?
