Issues with pcmcia-cs-3.2.1 and kismet on an old laptop
Well, after much trouble I have succeeded in getting the 2.4.22 kernel compiled on a Slackware 9.0-RELEASE installation on an old laptop. My issues are with the patched orinoco drivers and kismet itself.
I'm currently compiling Kismet on my laptop, and I'm noticing that some of the flags for the compiler are -mcpu=686... and my CPU is definitely not a PPRO or higher. While on the road, I patched and compiled the Orinoco drivers (pcmcia-cs-3.2.1, with shmoo's patch) and when it boots, I get unresolved symbol errors all over the place in those modules. What does this mean? How do I correct it? System specs: Intel 486/DX4 75mhz 24MB RAM 4.7GB HDD 2x PCMCIA TypeII cards PS: It was loads easier getting this to work on my P4 1.7 laptop... but I don't have it any more. |
