kismet populate only the first found AP to GPSDrive
Hi folks!
My Problem: In GPSDrive i can see my correct Position. The same coordinates show me my kismet client. However only the first seen Accesspoint is registered in GPSDrive. The other Accesspoint where are not put into the data way_kismet.txt I tested the kismet with the version 2005-08-R1, 2006-04-R1 and the GPSDrive version 2.09, 2.10pre2 with the same result. Can anyone give me a tip? |

Only networks detected with valid location data are written to the way_kismet.txt in the local user's .gpsdrive directory. Dutch

You need the CVS version of Gpsdrive, higher than 2.10pre2. I have the same problem, and I can't compile the latest cvs version on my laptop with suse 9.3 professional. (dependency hell) I'm currently working on getting a carpc setup with debian as the base system, gpsdrive binaries should compile on a deb system no problem. I'll try to let you know what I come up with in the near future. (a few weeks or so)

I run gpsdrive 2.09, and have no problems in displaying detected AP's on the map, whether doing it with the Kismet-GPSDrive-MySQL integration, or via the way_kismet.txt method. Invoking RHIP. Kismet-GPSDrive-Mysql integration : gpsdrive209_mysql.jpg way_kismet.txt method : gpsdrive209_kismet.jpg Dutch

sweet! I stand corrected. Now, I must know how you did it with the older version of Gpsdrive. I havn't been able to get is to keep the the AP's via mysql. (only the first one) The way_kismet.txt works for me. I believe that I had read somewhere that mysql was not fully supported/buggy on versions of gprdrive lower than 2.10 pre3.
Props to you Dutch. I have been poking around the stumbler forums gathering the vast amounts of knowledge that you are so kind to share. you are a staple in this scene and I think that this community would be lacking very much without you and your cronies support. Thanks. Last edited by jymibeer : 04-28-2006 at 05:51 AM. |

Patch it with the SQL escape fix I made and posted here : Fix for Gpsdrive-Kismet-Mysql bug posted ./configure, make, make install. Follow the instructions in the GPSDrive README.SQL file (On debian, located in : /usr/share/gpsdrive). Start GPSD, start MySQL, start Kismet, start GPSDrive, and it should work. Dutch
