Kismet Problems

Okay, it has been quite a while (last year) since i have used Kismet. Last night i started playing with it again on a fresh install of Slackware. I have installed it fine, and configured kismet.conf properly, i think. However, when trying to start the program i receive this message:

FATAL: pcap reported netlink type 1 (EN10MB) for eth0.This is probably means you'renot in RFMON mode or your drivers are reporting a bad value. Make sure you have the correct drivers and that entering monitor mode succeeded.

I am using an SMC2532W-B that is a prism 2 chipset and kernel 2.4.29.

Can anyone point me to the patch or the correct driver to resolve this problem?
