Mandrake 8.2, Cisco 340 PC card, 2.4.18 and kismet
Has anyone gotten this combination to work?
It doesn't for me. I had to d/l, compile and install a new libpcap and make my own shared objects just to get kismet to run. My cisco pc card works but I get a "tainted kernel" error messge when the airo_cs module loads. This is the module that comes with the install and not one I got elsewere. It may work as a NIC but not for kismet. I joined the kismet mailing list hoping to read other people's simular issues but no one has yet to post simular issues. I may be forced to venture a question. I just hope not to get RTFM'ed or STFW'ed ![]() -SAU |

Well, first of all, update your linux aironet driver.
Go to sourceforge.net and search for linux aironet and you will find the new drivers that support rfmon mode. Then recompile either your kernel with the new driver or better...disable pcmcia in the kernel and install pcmcia as non kernel integrated. Then come to http://www.remote-exploit.org get your wellenreiter and you got a program that works fine with ciscos, i develop most part of the code for one :-) Greetings Max |
