*nix and an ISA adapter
I tried to setup a gold card with linux to no avail. I want to build an AP, but the computer i have only has ISA slots. Any idea if an ISA adapter would work in this circumstance?

isapnp and pnpdump are commandline tools.
I'm not using any X windows either. So if it is an ISA PnP adapter then it should be as easy as running 'pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf' (check so you don't overwrite anything important) and then edit the file and runt 'isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf'. If it's not an PnP adapter, then it should work right away, assuming you have configured your BIOS so it says ISA and not PnP. Then configure your pcmcia drivers/card and install wireless-tools and you should be up and running. // Jokke |

sweetness. This is my plan. I accquired a what we like to call, mini puter. Its a pretty basic insdustrial grade comp. The plan is to get the wireless running on it, and us the AP mode on some cards and supported by wlan to make myself a little wireless AP.
