once again - Orinoco monitor mode
got it all to work with cisco perfectly (except I need to fix stuff until it's broken), so I decided to try to get my orinoco card to work as well (which I have done in the past but am encountering new issues)...

my lights are blinking (as apposed to just solid green) on my card, which is good...

Invalid command : monitor (I've read up on this and can't seem to find the problem)

Looks like you need to do a "depmod" command.

where?
where should I do the depmod command?

I tried in /usr/src/pcmcia-cs-3.1.34
#depmod

got:
depmod: Can't open /lib/modules/2.4.18-3/modules.dep for writing

Are you root? Try look at the man page for depmod. It might be "depmod -a".
