Orinoco 0.15rc2
Who did already try Orinoco 0.15rc2 driver release?

Is everyone still using 0.13 patched?

I just installed the 0.15rc2 release and managed mode works fine so I assume I did a good installation. I'm running Slackware 10.0 and I never patched anything before.

Now I can go in monitort mode typing iwconfig eth0 mode monitor but kismet still does not operate cause I cant change channel using iwconfig eth0 channel #

I guess I still did something wrong.

I read in the forum and I did some searching on google but seems everyone is still using 0.13 patched!??!?!?

Any comment?

I talked with dragorn about the infamous orinoco 0.15rc2 driver release. Bottom line, the maintainers refused his monitor patch and choosed to implement their own stuff; problem is, their monitor mode just doesn't work with some buggy chipsets (whereas dragorn's patch for 0.13e works just fine). So the best course of action is to stick with patched 0.13e.

.15rc2 failed miserably on my card so back to .13e I went and all is well. In short stay at .13e

You guys were right!

I just installed 0.13e with patch and it works much better!

It does not support master mode!

Is there a driver for hermes chipset supporting master mode? My card is a Lucent Agere Avaya, so I suppose hermes chipset.

I know hostap is only for prism and madwifi is only for atheros.
