Here is a tutorial on how to get kismet to work with redhat 8 that i found on the web, hope this helps

my current version of pcmcia-cs is pcmcia-cs-3.2.8 that does not appear in http://airsnort.shmoo.com/orinocoinfo.html

this means my drivers are already patched?

I have never had to patch the PCMCIA drivers. Try reading one of the tipsybottle guides listed above. http://tipsybottle.com/technology/wireless/
