Orinoco monitor mode.
I have my redhat 7.3 with lucent orinoco patched for the monitor mode, but it kicks itself out of monitor mode. I do a iwpriv eth1 monitor 2 11 do a ifconfig -a, it is fine, I try to run airsnort or wellenreiter 1.1 and exit either program and do a ifconfig -a it is back in ethernet mode. Anyone have this problem? Is there a fix?
Thanks... |

On airsnort.shmoo.com they said you had to downgrade or maybe upgrede you firmware on the card.. He said he runs 7.52 with no prob, so therfore im running 7.52 with no probs. He said any other firmware other than that would knock the card out after a few packets. So try to change firmware to 7.52.
Hope it helps killyt |

For those of you running Redhat 7.3 I have some questions...
Did you install RH with the card in the machine? Did you download all the 'Errata' from Redhat including the new 2.4.9-18-4 Kernel? Which version of PCMCIA-Cs did you use? Does it matter that the KERNEL-PCMCIA-CS version is version 3.1.27 and the PCMCIA-CS is 3.1.33? When the card is installed and any point in the install process... there are no LED's lit on it at all and it occasionally locks the system up... Also if the Lucent Godl card is in the system when I boot it, it will not completely boot up... Any Ideas?
