I just got my 200mw dual-antenna Senao 2511 EXT2 in the mail today... sweet lookin' card, and what's most interesting is the fact that I thought I'd need to install the hostap or wlan-ng drivers for it, but miraculously, it seems that the orinoco drivers load it and run it perfectly. Without modifying a single thing, I was able to hit web pages and whatnot (despite the fact that this card has no built-in antenna!) and on top of that, without even modifying my kismet.conf, the card worked perfectly in kismet!
Is this too good to be true, or is this well known and I'm a goddamn idiot? I wish my new pigtails would get in already (j/k fabcorp love)

OK, so I need to use some other drivers, specifically the HostAP ones, but I am having so much difficulty them installed. When ever I try to "make pccard" in the hostAP source directory, I get loads of nondescript errors. I have tried kernel source in many flavors, including 2.4.22, 2.6.0 and 2.6.1 but I always get similar errors. Is there something totally obvious that I'm doing wrong? Nowhere mentions trouble compiling them, and I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything properly. Help?
