Setting up a Linux AP

I am trying to setup a AP with linux. I am using an orinoco pcmcia card and RH 7.3. I have started some what, but i must be missing something. The card stops sending out beacons after a few minutes. I followed the step-by-step process for the article on the o'reilly site. I configured the wireless.opt and network.opts files, so the question is what am i missing?

Maybe you should look at Sputnik. They have all ready done it and put it on a bootable ISO CD for the free world to use.

thanks i'll check it out, but i need to get a prism 2 card though.
