Simple problem or not?
When i have a connection to my AP with my orinoco silver, airsnort starts & finds my AP fine. When i dont have a connection to my AP, airsnort does not even find my card and wont certainly catch any packets
Is it a IP thing? SHould i set a static ip to my card or what? |

You need to go into your card manager and set you SSID
to ANY, to pickup stuff other than your own. Had you done your own searching, you would have found this out as it's Wardriving 101 info.

I have SSID as ANY and i find networks fine with kismet etc.The problem is that the allmighty airsnort does not find ANY wireless cards from my laptop if i dont already have set a connection to a WAP. It certainly finds all AP:s in the neigbourhood if i have gotten an IP address from dhcp. It is weird, i know ![]() I certainly search and read before asking stupid guestions in here. |
