Stop throttling
I've always wondered, isn't it trivial to stop 802.11g from throttling the whole network down to 11Mb/s (when an 802.11b client comes on) by faking the capabilities of pushing 54Mb/s into the packets ? Since burning out the minipci in my router (hand editing firmware is bad and makes baby jesus cry), I haven't the chance to play around anymore, but is this at all possible ? If so, wouldn't it be as easy as using netsed to drop values into each outgoing packet as they hit the interface ? or even a kernel patch
