People,
THC has released a new application called THC-Wardrive it can be found below :- http://www.thehackerschoice.com I've compiled it and it works fine for me under Redhat6.2 / Slackware7 / Redhat7+ and Debian Potato with both Lucent and Buffalo wireless cards PB "This is not an exit" |

Cool - gotta check that out this evening. I don't think I've ever put the Orinoco card in my Linux box. That'll be the first challenge I guess.
Why is it that the Orinoco/WaveLan is what everything is written for? It's not the cheapest and it's not the best...well, it does have that external antenna connection. |

That would be because Lucent supply OEM's with their chipset, ergo Buffalo cards are Silver Orinoco cards in disguise. Pat |

I think the reason is because they are the best deal for the money. An orinoco silver card is like $79 now and gets much better range than anything of comparable price. In real world testing I find they get much better range than even the expensive cisco cards. And yes, that external antenna connector is a big reason. The only problem i have with the lucent is that they can't do raw packet capture
