USB GPS Mouse not working
I have now managed to get everything working except the USB Royaltek GPS mouse it causes Kernel oops when I exit any program. I get NMEA output but as soon as I exit it crashes. Does anyone know of a kernel where the Prolific PL2303 drivers work ? I mean someone must use this GPS device with Kismet or should I just get another cable i.e. serial cable and use that instead of the USB ?
Thanks |

well did you compile the drivers in the kernel as a module, are you using the right drivers, is kismet set up right, in gpsd are you getting the correct readings? I'm not even going to pretend to know why you have errors when you exit "any" program.

Yeah everything works perfect except for exiting GPSD which cause a Kernel opps forcing a reboot. All modules are there and everything works fine until I have to exit then system down and freezes.

Hi,
I am guess you are using WinXP as I have had a few problems with this myself. Most of the times it works OK but I do get the odd time when my laptop crashes and restarts. I have a serwpl.inf file. Can you copy it into a reply and I can see if its the same as mine |

Here are the HINTS: GPSD is a linux program Windows does not let you compile anything into the kernel. Linux does. Another piece of advice is not to trade .inf files, you have no idea what could be in there or what it will do. |

Thanks for that.. I was not aware that I was asking for a trade in the .ini file. Just looking to see what his file looked like.. I am aware of the risks of such a file...
I admit that maybe I should have read the post better.. |
