wi-fi setup
I am setting up my unix/linux dual boot server and I am using a D-Link DWL-G520 pci card and a D-link DI-614 access point.
Since I am a newbie to Unix/Linux (trying to ween myself off windows), I would like to know if my card is supported by unix/linux since I saw no drivers in the software for it and how would I go about finding the drivers to work with it. If someone could also give me step by step directions on how to install them it would be greatly appreciateda as well. I also have a Linksys WMP-11 pci card as well. |

Check sourceforge.net; they have boucoup drivers for Linux, so you should find it there. And, of course, there's always Google.
As far as a step-by-step, most of the stuff I've used for Linux comes with a README that says exactally how to do it. Once again, there's always Google. Damn, that wasn't much help was it? I'm not the tech-god that most of these guys are, but I try to help when I can.

The D-Link G520 uses the Atheros chipset. You can use either the Madwifi driver or the GPL driver . Neither is ideal, but both are mostly functional.

Uh...
Yeah, what he said. I was going to say that, but I, uh, wanted to let him do the search for himself. Yeah, that's the ticket...
