Hotspot Billing Software

Anyone know of any that won't make me get a full round of VC funding to pay for?

Mikrotik - ~$80USD (highly modifed linux)
NoCat - Free (standard linux)
ControlAP ~$100USD (Windows)

Search around. All have discussed here at some length.

By the way, all three are HotSpots without the billing software. The billing module can be added to all three. The range from free to a couple of hundred depending on the module. I should have made that clearer in the above.

You should provide it for free, man.

Sure, someone along the line has to pay for it somewhere, but, the answer isn't to get the end user to cough up.

For free man, for free. This is a community after all.

I *love* Zyxel's stuff. They do a really great job. The problem is that we're not talking about a one AP hotspot. This is for a resort that covers 2 square miles. The Hotspot-In-A-Box is also for use with someone who already has a POS machine.

Right now ControlAP looks like its right up our alley.

So who pays for it then? Until we figure it out, I'm going to charge $5 a day.

Yeah, they were better when it was all free though. I remember those happy days of simply burning the ISO. I still have one here for when it's needed.

I tried searching for a post I posted about new $putnik, couldn't find it though.
