Linux WiFi Hotspot
Here's an interesting tool:
http://wifiadmin.sourceforge.net/ From their website: "It acts as an advanced Web interface to any wireless tools enabled wireless driver, like HOSTAP. It is written in clean PHP4 and with the help of tools like RRDTool, it can produce numerous graphs of various wireless information."

Maybe is a stupid question but this kind of software makes sense only if you use a dedicated PC as AP using a Wireless Card in Master Mode. Is this correct?
I dont know if this has same performance of using a real AP, but this is not the point. Now I guess most of people use a real AP, they are much smaller, much less noise, much less problems.... is there any software to have a web page with statistics querying the AP? SMNP based? I gave a look on google but I was not able to find any! ZioPRoTo |

Zonerider
Zonerider is a windows based Hotpsot gateway which is similar to the one you just mentioned. The real difference is the size of the download (0.5mgb), and its simplicity in its service. Zonerider operators or Zonemasters can offer their broadband access via an Access point connected to their PC. The Gateway is built with Firewall protocols and SSL based encryption. End users access very much like a typical hotspot and pay for a month or even 1 hour, while the Zonemaster gets 70% of the revenues.
So if you are paying for a fat pipe of 8mbs you can offset those costs by sharing the service, with others. And the best part is you can remain completely anonymous. Take a look http://www.zonerider.net |

I sure hope some ISP will sue the company and not just the users, for encouraging them to break their broadband TOS. Dutch
