But IMHO you can't, as "Wi-Fi" is a registered trademark : Wi-Fi®, Wi-Fi Alliance®. the Wi-Fi logo, and the Wi-Fi ZONE logo are registered trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance; and Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™, WMM™, WPA™, WPA2™, Wi-Fi ZONE™, the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo, and the Wi-Fi Alliance logo are trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance. You might contact the Wi-Fi Alliance and ask permission to use it : www.wi-fi.com Dutch

I assume, there are quite a few members on this forum running and managing hotspots. How do you do it? You do not use the term Wi-Fi? Or if you use it, you ask for permission?
For example, in my country both wi-fi.mycountryextension and wifi.mycountryextension domain names are registered by a big mobile phone company. Do you think they have permission from Wi-Fi alliance to use the term? |
