Hello gurus/guru-ettes,
I have an iPAQ 3660 and a CF sleeve. We have b/g WLAN at the house and I'd like to have the iPAQ to receive it too, but am unable to find out which PCMCIA card would suit it. So, in essence, can you point me to the right direction as to what card I should acquire? Thanks! Grumman the n00b |

You need to use the search engine here but you will find that this card is about as flexible as a rubberband when it comes to platforms.

One that works.
Seriously, you'll have to provide a lot more information. We can't work in a vacuum. Start with the basics: What OS? What model of CF sleeve? What activities are you looking to do with the iPAQ on the WLAN? What encyption level is accaptable? Do you want 802.11g only or is 802.11b acceptable? (If 802.11b is acceptable, are you willing to slow down the entire network when the iPAQ is functioning?)

>(If 802.11b is acceptable, are you willing to slow down the entire network >when the iPAQ is functioning?)[/quote] Woah. I fell in the first n00b hole there is - apologies. I have a 3660 with Windows CE 3.0 English, rom revision 2.20.04 ENG. I also have a PCMCIA sleeve PE2036C, in which I currently house a 128MB cf expansion memory. In the house (it's a rowhouse - a Finnish concept , we have 2/1 meg ADSL which is piped into Buffalo AirStations and we all get excellent signal. It's a b/g system, my work laptop uses b and home laptop has g. So the question is, which WLAN card has good drivers and will work in this government standard-issue, industry-strength, as-used-in-hospitals iPAQ? I thank you all for your help! |

If it's a PCMCIA sleeve, the go with an ORiNOCO Gold. It's has WinCE 3.0 compatible drivers and came be found on eBay. G cards may be difficult to find with CE 3.0 drivers.

I don't think you'll get a g card to work since they are cardbus and they don't make a cardbus pcmcia sleeve.
