New to all this.
Here at work i've been charged with setting up a couple wardriving/walking machines. I've got an Ipaq 5150, 2 slot expansion piggyback, and an Orinoco gold wifi card. I can't get the card active. I've downloaded firmware updates, drivers, the whole shi-bang.

Whenever in insert the card, it recognizes it as a networking card, but it will not go active. No lights. Any help is appreciated. I'm trying to use this with WiFiFoFum

Contact the manufacturer of the hardware and/or the author of the software you want to use.

okay, my problem is not wififofum. My problem is getting my ipaq to enable the Orinoco gold wifi card. Like i said earlier, when i plug it into my expansion pack, it pops up saying it's detected the card, and wants a name for it (network card 1), but the card never goes active. Where can i turn it on?

Have you tried calling it Bob?

Download and install the Orinoco drivers and client manager. The ipaq only know what it is but not how to talk to it.
