Heh Well I don't have a PPC compiler, let alone a PPC, so it will take time. However I'm in touch with a pda developper from brazil who's helping me on this matter.
Well it is sure going to be the next big sniffer on PPC.

I've just been told there is not WildPackets driver for PPC. If so, it won't be possible to make airodump work on a pocket pc.

I just have to add some text here as a smilie alone would be considered bad practice.
Though, it really sums up what I'm thinking/feeling right about now.
Is there no viable substitute for the WildPackets driver?

Oh yes, point taken. I guess the only way to get passive sniffing on PPC for the time being is by linux/kismet. Though I read that it is not easy to get it to work!

Actually it's extremely easy. Get a copy of "WarDriving: Drive, Detect, Defend". Chris has a walk-thru for installing Kismet on FC and Slack that's very easy to understand and follow.

This is assuming you want to devote your PPC to Linux.

I take it there's no way to dual boot WM2003/Linux?

Wasn't paying attention, thought he was talking about a laptop.

I've read about it before. As PPC uses RAM for storing most of your files, it is possible to back it up the image of your WM2003 on an external storage and load linux. After finishing using linux, you could load back the WM image or something like that. I am not entirely sure though.

No worries. I do have Kismet and Airsnort running on Fedora Core and you're right, it is quite simple to get it up and running. Kismet is a great program, that is why I did think of getting a 2nd cheap PPC and linux on it. But well guess I'll have to get more knowledge on the subject first.

My Tricorder is shaping up nicely now but it is still missing a passive packet capturer.

No Linux on this PPC, only WM2003.

Yeah, I could get another eBay jobbie and install Linux/Kismet but that would mean having to carry around two PPCs. One for my every day work and one just in case I want to run Kismet.

Not really what I had in mind.
