Turning a PocketPC into an AP?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this thread?

I'm not looking for full AP functionality (although that would be nice). I'm just trying to get an internet connection to pass through USB, to the WiFi card, via an ad hoc to my laptop. I'm having zero luck so far.

What wireless card do you have? You'll notice that when I performed this trick on my laptop, I had some very specific hardware.

Finally, I'm not in charge here by any stretch of the imagination, but, it would be cooler if you posted to this forum when asking a question. Linking to somewhere else is pretty lazy and will affect how lazy people are when talking to you. I just found it inpolite.

WTF does this question have to do with "Questions and configuration information about the NetStumbler software" ? You could at least post this in the correct area, but chances are, it shouldn't be posted here at all.

Stupido, try to read the forum sectiondescriptions in the future. And before posting any further messages, you should head up to the Welcome Desk section and read ALL the posts there. That MIGHT keep you out of trouble here in the future, though I have my doubts about that, based on the estimated IQ level you have presented in this thread.

Thread moved to the appropriate forum.

I'll always remember this day. The day that io333 said he wasn't going to post here anymore...

Talking Too Bad...

Too bad he ran away at such a small flame barrage!

I just noticed the ability to set my Dell Axim X30 into an AP mode this past weekend after upgrading to A05 (PPC2K3 2nd Ed service pack)... Didnt get to play with it all that much, as where I was I didn't have a cradle or any way to get the hardwired side Internet connectivity... but it did go into app mode, and a friend's iPAQ was able to *DETECT* it with miniStumbler.

MS doesn't 'sniff' anything.

Maybe. Unfortunately, that's not what he wrote. Thanks for the psychic input anyway.

I made no mention of his actions with his own property. I could really give a fuck less what he does with his own shit.

Thank You G8tK33per, Need a TUCKS?

To Sniff.. per chance.. to SMELL?
Is sniffing to smelling as tasting is to consuming?

G8tK33per, an anus, by another other name smell so "sweet"?

I see not much has changed since I departed... Flamethrowers still have hair triggers... but is it truly on the trigger of the flame thrower? or just transfer from the hand of the operator?

Anyway - Starpoint is correct, I meant detect, and since it was his iPAQ that " D E T E C T E D " not SNIFFED my X30 acting as an AP, no special John Edwards module was needed.

Well.. since G was so quick to singe, anyone for some Carne' de Rata ala RatBurger? (Demolition Man Reference)
