Now that it's in the correct area.... I don't think that any current pda has enough horsepower to do it in one's life time yet. I'm sure someone could program an app that can do it, it would just be really slow.

Aircrack finds keys on my 1.7GHz laptop in 2 seconds flat. Now take a 400MHz iPaq. Would that do the same thing in 8-10 seconds? Of course I could be wrong. Please correct if I am, that's the only way I'll learn.

Handhelds don't have math coprocessors. It's hard to judge processor power between X86 and ARM. They are too different. I'm sure someone with waaay too much time on their hands could code up a program to do it just for giggles. I could probably recompile something for my Zaurus. I just don't think it would be worth the time it would take.

Shoot...
i think my new Axim would be able to crack some mofo wep with a 624 Mhz processor. I'd love to see some development on this as well, if I had the skills, I would be working night and day to compile something nice. Give me a few more years at coding... |

How's the code coming along?
![]() You shouldnt worry about the ammount of power a PDA has to crack wep, that's not a problem. You have to worry about how much storage space it has, and if the card can support monitor mode (Am I correct in stating monitor mode?). Other than that, PDA would be a very good Pen test tool, small, light, portable, and can be hidden. |

my actual biggest problem was reverting my router back to old skewl wep mode haha. space is no problem as the code is going to discard any non weak packets. Only Interesting IV's will be held to be analized later. depending on packet size, I'm guessing that even if each weak iv was 50k we'd need about 115 megs. Any expansion card in this day and age is larger than that. I'll make formal requirements once I'm further along in the port. So far , looking good though. Keep your fingers crossed.

What could we use as a capture program? Is there a PPC03 port of pcap or airodump? I'm not a programmer, but I've learned a lot in research and use of these programs. I'd just like to know some more details of the programs required to use. I don't even know if I can turn the wifi sdio card I'm getting into a promiscuous mode to do a capture.
