Angry 169.254

I have Dell notebook with truemobile 1150 card. It finds a signal from my work (I think). It si powerfull enough but no internet success. Packets are sending but no receiving.

This is the info on the wirelss connection:
Physical Address: 00-02-2D-8E-43-F4
IP Address: 169.254.72.165
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway:
DNS Server:
WINS Server:

I saw some post here about entering something forWEP password or something but I am not sure. And I dont know how to copy netstumbler reading to post here.

I hope somebody can help me. My best regards.

1. Search the Forums
2. Ask your Network Admin for the correct Settings for the network
(Hint: Nobody here as them)

yeah, this issues has been discussed this week and the prior week and a quick search should answer your questions. The issue you're having is that your machine cannot communicate with the dhcp server (assuming there is one available). More than likely, you don't have something configured correctly on your machine.

That concludes my 300th post... Yay Me.

What you're seeing is Windows configuring itself for the default 169.254 private B class network that it uses when it cannot find a DHCP server to provide a valid network address.

NetStumbler will not help you connect to the network, it's not designed to do that.

No one here will help you connect to a network that you are not authorised to use - if you think you're authorised to use the one at work, go have a chat with the network administrator, he will help you configure your system so that it can connect.
