Consecutive MAC addresses
Hi,

After a WLAN audit of my neighborhood, NetStumbler listed lots of peer with consecutive MAC addresses. A part of this list contained 112 consecutive MAC addresses.

So, when NetStumbler report consecutive MAC addresses as "peer", is it really mean that those MAC addresses form a single network?

It's one of the top listings in the FAQs

Ad-Hoc weirdness - multiplying clients


They are called Frequently Asked Questions for a reason.

Thanks for the link and sorry for not having seen it.

I have made a search within NetStumbler for "consecutive mac addresses" but I found no answer to my question and I did not make the connection between the post's title "ad-hod weirdness - multiplying clients" and my question.

No problem, and you're welcome.

It's great that you searched, (believe me!) but it really pays to read through the FAQs here. Yes, there's a lot to wade through. Yes, a lot of it may not apply to your particular question(s). However, things are put there precisely becasue they've been frquently asked before. Besides, hopefully, you'll learn something else.
